In our efforts to continually expose residents and families to the benefits of exercise & fitness, we've started a "RUNNING GROUP" here in McKay's Mill. There is "NO CHARGE" to take part. Meet us and your fellow neighbors at the CLUBHOUSE on designated Run Days.  We will head out for approximately 1 hour. Kids are welcome (IF THEY ARE AWAKE ;)  Please RSVP your space below.

 

Looking for a group member who also runs at other times throughout the week, we've created a password protected member list.  In order to receive the password, we request that you come to at least one Sunday Group Run to meet members face to face.

Today we know that children and teens who participate in resistance training experience a variety of physical benefits, such as increased strength, decreased risk of injury, improved long-term health and enhanced sports performance.  In addition, resistance training can increase children’s self-esteem and confidence (Faigenbaum et al. 1999). AAP, ACSM, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine have all released Position Statements emphasizing the benefits of resistance training for children and adolescents.
